Welcome to the KAFI Academy 2008!

The KAFI Academy is a highly successful series of summer camps for middle and high school students. The camps are part of the Kalamazoo Animation Festival International (KAFI) organization and Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

Our camps:

• have been developed and are run by experienced artists and educators;
• are focused upon practical, "hands-on" experiences designed to help learn both the art and craft of the subject;
• are run in classrooms and labs in KVCC's Center for New Media;
• use the latest industry-standard hardward, software, and equipment;
• emphasize one-on-one interaction with the instructor, are small class sizes, and utilize a lab format;
• have been part of the festival or in the summer since 2003.
