ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: Only works created on or after January, 2004 will be accepted.
FESTIVAL AWARDS- $15,000 in prize money for independent and student categories. No Entry fee.

- TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- All entries must be submitted on a DVD, playable in standard NTSC or PAL format.
- The file name on the DVD must be the unique ‘registration’ number you receive from the on-line registration process. See Registration Process below.
- One film entry per DVD.
- Send two (2) copies of the film DVD.
- KAFI will not accept entries on VHS, Beta, mini-DVD, website link or URL. Please contact us at kafi@kvcc.edu if you have special technical requirements.
- Entries for the "Web Animation" categories must be copied onto a CD, and include a QuickTime or MPEG version of the video in addition to the .SWF file.
- Please make sure your DVD is not region coded.
- KAFI reserves the right to request a Beta version of your film, and digital photo stills if selected as a ‘finalist’ for competition.
- SELECTION
- Entries that do not meet the technical requirements, have required data missing or are received past the deadline will not be considered for selection in KAFI.
- Entries will be screened by the KAFI Creative Director and Judging Panel for the top "finalists".
- Finalists will be screened by the KAFI Judges for category awards.
- KAFI Creative Director reserves the right to change the category code on entries if he/she feels it is a better fit for that category.
- Winners at the Gold, Silver and Bronze level will receive one (1) free festival pass to KAFI.
- Cash awards to Independent and Student categories.
- Winners will be announced at the Awards Show on Sunday, May 20th, 2007. Mark your calendars now to attend KAFI.
- DEADLINES - DATES
- November 1, 2006 - Call for Entries open.
- January 30, 2007 – Call For Entries closed.
- February 7, 2007 - Entries and Confirmation Form due at KAFI.

- REGISTRATION PROCESS
- All entries must be registered via the KAFI on-line Registration Process through the KAFI Website. Click here.
- Each entry will be given a unique Registration Number after all required data is successfully entered. One Registration Number per film/title entry.
- The Registration Number must be written directly on the entry DVD in permanent ink. This is for accurate identification purposes in case the disc cover is separated or damaged during shipment. (The Registration Number may also be written on the disc cover.)
- Use this Registration Number as the ´file name´ on the DVD. Do NOT use the film title as the file name.
- One entry per DVD.
- Entrant will receive one (1) Confirmation Page per registration number after a successful registration on their computer. The Confirmation Page will include their unique Registration Number and the Copyright/Permission Statement.
- Entrant will print two (2) copies of the Confirmation Page, one copy for Entrant, one for KAFI. This is your only copy of Registration Number and Permission Statement. Please keep in a secure location for reference and verification.
- Sign and date one copy of the form and mail with the two (2) copies of the DVD to KAFI at:

- Click here to enter your film. This process will enter your film in KAFI, modify an existing record (address, description etc) and/or verify the status of an entry. Follow the on-line instructions.
- Deletes and Modifies to your on-line registration record allowed up to February 28, 2007.
- For security reasons when making changes, deletes or verification to an existing record, entrants will need to enter their unique Registration Number along with answering several questions about their entry before access is given. Follow the on-line instructions.
- Contact KAFI directly if you have questions about your entry or would like more information about KAFI at: kafi@kvcc.edu. Please refer to your Registration Number in your correspondence.
- VERIFICATION:
- Entrant can verify if KAFI has received their required forms and film through the on-line registration process. Click on the Registration link and follow the on-line instructions to verify.
- A "status" code will appear under the Registration Number.
R= Received and complete
I= Incomplete. KAFI will send one email to entrant with request for missing/correct data.
Blank= not received yet. Please allow 4-5 weeks for international shipments.
- DELETES:
- An entry may be deleted from the system. Follow the on-line instructions.
- To change a category code, you will need to delete that entry and re-enter it in a different category. The system will assign a completely new number. When this occurs you may: 1.) mail another copy of the film and Permission Statement, or 2.) send a message to us at kafi@kvcc.edu if you have already mailed in your entry. Include the old and new number so we make the necessary corrections on your DVD.
